On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, members of the Alice Springs Interagency Tasking and Coordination Group representing a range of government and non-government agencies joined local police at the Alice Springs Police Station to mark the soft launch of Operation Ludlow II.
The event highlights the strong interagency collaboration being undertaken to support the Alice Springs community through coordinated prevention, engagement and response strategies.
Operation Ludlow II is a ten-week, high-visibility policing operation led by the Northern Territory Police Force during the 2025–26 summer school holiday period. The operation aims to reduce crime, antisocial behaviour, alcohol-related harm and youth offending across Alice Springs, Katherine and Tennant Creek.
The initiative includes additional police patrols conducted on foot, by vehicle, bicycle, horse and drone, as well as the deployment of specialist police units. These efforts are supported by close partnerships with community organisations and government agencies.
Operation Ludlow II is a seasonal community safety initiative designed to increase police presence and enhance public safety during a traditionally busy and higher-risk period.
