Territory Safety Division

The Territory Safety Division (TSD) is the operational arm of the Territory Community Safety Coordination Centre.

The TSD is currently building its footprint that will deliver operational community safety and policing services across the Northern Territory.

TSD members have to date adopted a strong focus on supporting operational Police across the greater Darwin region including:

• Social order & Anti-Social behaviour
• Proactive Crime Reduction activities
• Provides frontline assistance to support general duties response
• Public Order Response
• Assists Crime / Specialist units with:
  • Apprehension Arrest Targets / Warrant Executions
  • Assistance in Search and Rescue Operations
  • Critical Incident Response
  • Domestic violence matters

TSD maintains the Public Order Response capability for the Northern Territory Police, providing specialised support during public demonstrations, rallies, major entertainment events, riots, and incidents of civil unrest. The unit also conducts routine deployments to remote communities to assist with managing and stabilising local unrest.
