'Community safety' refers to the state of the whole community's wellbeing. It's important to:
- recognise a community's diversity
- the many factors that determine what community safety is
- consider the social reasons and other drivers that can lead criminal offending.
Safety can be felt or perceived and be something real and tangible; impacting on how individuals and families feel in their community, and can extend to their:
- work and career
- recreational pursuits
- education
- socialising and
- investment.
