Transforming public housing in Alice Springs

The management of 100 public housing properties in Alice Springs will be transferred to Community Housing Central Australia (CHCA). This will help created better outcomes for social housing tenants.

CHCA is an experienced housing organisation which currently manages over 400 properties across the Alice Springs region.

CHCA will be responsible for property and tenancy management functions, while the NT Government will maintain ownership of the homes.

CHCA already manages 30 former public housing dwellings on behalf of the NT Government, with these homes set to transition to a similar longer term management agreement over the coming 12 months.

Nearly 800 homes have already been transferred to Community Housing Providers or are in the process of being transferred across the NT.
