Supporting domestic, family and sexual violence victim-survivors become advocates

The NT Government is investing to support victim-survivors of domestic, sexual and family violence (DSFV) through the Amplifying Voices program.

The program engages Territorians who have experienced DSFV, exercise their lived experience to lead advocacy and influence systems reforms through primary prevention activities across the Territory.

The Amplifying Voices program has been co-designed by 6 women with lived experience with input from 7 professional advocates and experts.

The program offers 12 training sessions preparing participants to advocate and has been designed by victim-survivors, for victim-survivors.

The program launched in late 2022 and this week, 11 participants completed the program and will now begin their advocacy work.

DSFV is preventable when we work together and put the safety of women and children at the centre.
