The Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) has put a spotlight on the Territory Community Safety Coordination Centre's (TCSCC) collaborative approach to addressing the factors contributing to anti-social behaviour and youth crime in the Northern Territory.
The TCSCC and its operational arm, the Territory Safety Division (TSD), recently featured in ANZPAA's publication – E-Scan.
The article places a spotlight on the collaborative work undertaken by TCSCC and TSD since the commencement on 1 July 2023, highlighting the actions that strengthen the partnerships between service providers in both Central Australia and the Top End regions.
The co-location of agency representatives within TCSCC enables the collaborative collection of data that informs policy development, supports decision making, evaluates services and provides specialised interventions for at risk individuals.
The TCSCC oversee community safety initiatives and key programs across our major urban centres, like the Crime Reduction Strategy and the recent inaugural Alice Springs Community Safety Expo.
Whilst TCSCC and TSD have had success and achieved much in the past 18 months, the long-term success of this initiative requires the ongoing collaboration across all government and community groups.
The TCSCC continues to foster the relationships and connections required to collaboratively address the anti-social behaviour and personal crime issues experienced by Territorians, continuing to work towards all Territorians and visitors feeling safe in our communities.
